At Akoma, we approach gender justice as both a political commitment and a methodological framework. We conduct intersectional, feminist legal and policy research that challenges patriarchal, colonial, and exclusionary systems. Climate Justice & Resilience
We understand climate change not just as an environmental issue, but as a justice issue. One that disproportionately affects those who have contributed least to the crisis. Akoma’s climate justice work is grounded in decolonial, feminist, and community-informed perspectives. We support research, policy analysis, and communications that amplify the voices of frontline communities, particularly women and youth in the Global South. Our work spans climate resilience, just transitions, and the intersection of environmental degradation with social inequality. We strive to co-create knowledge that supports sustainable, culturally rooted, and justice-aligned responses to the climate emergency.
